SHARP

What underlies Sharp's goal of making products that become the mainstream of the next generation is concern for the environment. Sustainable manufacturing means, by extension, building a sustainable society, and indeed, doing so can be the greatest challenge of our time.

Sharp began research on solar cells in 1959. At the time, solar was heralded as the next new technology after television. This was long before environmental concerns became a popular issue, and despite the establishment of mass-production technologies, the production scale was quite small. Still, Sharp understood the potential of solar power as a form of renewable energy and continued efforts toward perfecting solar power generation technology.

Engineering Excellence

  • Sharp has produced a high module-efficiency percentage for an outstanding balance of size and weight to power and performance.  This module also uses an advanced surface texturing process to increase light absorption and improve efficiency.

Durable & Reliable

  • Tempered glass, EVA lamination and weatherproof back-skin provide long-life and enhanced cell performance.
  • 25-year limited warranty on power output.
